SpringCharts Patient Portal (www.springmedical.com) is an online patient portal that can be customized for use in any type of medical practice. It is a secure, user-friendly tool to help patients manage and share their medical records.

This portal also allows patients to track and graph important health information including blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol. This application allows patients to keep all vital medical information in a secure place.

A patient can create a personal health record account which allows them to share clinical and demographic information. Patients do not have to fill out lengthy forms every time they visit the physician, saving them time.

The Patient Portal also allows for timely communication between patient and medical staff. The patient can complete a comprehensive health record for the entire family from the comfort of their own home.

The Patient Portal is being offered as a stand-alone application and soon will be offered as an integrated version to be used with the SpringCharts EHR software. The company partnered with NoMoreClipboard to create the SpringCharts Patients Portal application.

SpringCharts Patient Portal is web based and can be accessed from a desktop computer, laptop or smart phone via the Internet. There is no special equipment needed to access the system.

The portal is an online application that is easy to use. A patient can get to the Patient Portal through the practice’s website. If a practice doesn’t have a website, it can set up direct access to the SpringCharts Portal for a patient to use. The professional staff at SpringCharts will assist with the initial setup and will handle the deployment of the system. Training is provided, including tutorials, and customer support is available.

My Take
I was very impressed with SpringCharts Patient Portal. It is easy to use and has many valuable tools to help a person create a Personal Health Record. The application is designed to be used by anyone, no matter the level of their computer expertise. This patient portal benefits both the physician and the physician’s patients by streamlining the amount of paperwork both have to process. I would highly recommend this product for any type or size of medical practice.
