Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information

that the Department of Defense (DoD) Force Health Protection & Readiness Program
Office (FHP&R) has awarded the company a $23 million contract to manage and
enhance FHP&R automated information systems.
Vangent’s four-year contract will support FHP&R systems integration, operations, and
maintenance; and management and administration of Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU),
Secret, and Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS SCI) networks.
Vangent will also provide 24x7 help desk support for deployed DoD Medical Surveillance
Systems and information assurance services including DOD Information Assurance
Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). Vangent will serve as the prime
contractor, with subcontractors Akimeka, LLC, DefenseWeb Technologies, Inc. and
Seidcon, Inc.
The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for FHP&R serves as the principal
staff assistant and advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) for all
DoD deployment medicine policies, programs, and activities. FHP&R is responsible for
deployment related health policy, doctrine, theater information systems, system
rightsizing, and international agreements.
