Medical Strike Hits California University

For the first time in 25 years, licensed doctors in the United States picketed an employer. So reports U-T San Diego.

Doctors from the University of California San Diego and nine other California campuses staged a walkout to protest the university’s medical staffing levels and resource allocation. A medical strike is unusual in California because state law, in most cases, prevents doctors from working directly for hospitals.
