Finding a Non-traditional Route to Med School

Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine offers a non-traditional medical program. So reports Government Health IT.

The Humanities in Medicine (Hu-Med) program accepts a limited number of students into the program who haven’t taken the traditional pre-med science classes. In fact, the Hu-Med students aren’t even required to take the MCAT. They have backgrounds in English, Literature or even anthropology. The belief is that this produces better doctors.
