Beware of the Insider-Driven Data Breach

Eight people, including one worker at Montifiore Medical Center, have been charged with stealing personal information, including names, birthdates and Social Security numbers, of as many as 12,000 patients. So reports The New York Times. 

Monique Walker, an assistant clerk at the hospital, allegedly printed out patient records almost every day between 2012 and 2013 and sold the information for as little as $3 dollars each to her co-defendants, who used the info to make $50,000 worth of purchases at upscale stores such as Barneys New York and Lord & Taylor.
