nextgen

updates are a nightmare. Very slow, lost productivity is immense. I am a doc for a large co. Would love to have this product unceremoniously dumped, won't happen because of the cost. I have no experience with other EMR's, but this one has seriously hurt my ability to provide good medicine, efficiency is out of the question. Dragon speech recognition does help-would not contemplate using this system without dragon. Good luck and beware Read more...

I love this product

This product is going to be around for a long time. The support is good, interface, customization and the stability of the database are parts of an extremely well thought and made software. They need to look at pricing of training, normal support hours and shorter enhancement request resolutions. Read more...

Dr. First

Doctors would have more time to spend on their patients if they weren’t continually mired in paperwork. Personally, I feel that Eprescribing is a key component in the future of medicine. The hitech act ensures the privacy and security of those involved in the process, a major concern of those who were on the fence about Eprescribing. . DrFirst is an excellent example of a company using technology to streamline medicine. Read more...

Cloud Medical Software

Timely piece. We have been on Sage Intergy and Intergy EHR for 5 years. We switched to the cloud product, IOC, just last Friday. We, thus, have 2 days of experience with cloud vs. office server. There are many pluses to migrating to the cloud. We no longer have to monitor the data backup in the office and bring backup tapes to and from home. The backup is done professionally and at multiple geographic locations. Restoration is tested. We do not have medical data residing in our office the left of which would be disasterous for our business. We are free from the hassle of troubleshooting hardware and network problems. Updates to the software and data (such as drug formularies) is done centrally. No more babysitting upgrades. This particular cloud program runs on its own portal outside of Windows Explorer. That provides substantial protection from hacking. Sage can put their energies into developing a single, excellent product rather than support thousands of installations on various versions, hardware, configurations and platforms. There have been a few problems. The most important of which is our cable Internet speed. The cloud system currently runs more slowly than the server. However, our cable company offers, for a fee, 3 levels of upgrade on speed. We opted to try the 1st which doubles our download and upload speeds. We'll see the results tomorrow. The top level multiplies it ten-fold. Also, the software has bugs that are not in the corresponding version of Intergy for servers. However, a newer version of the software is already on the cloud and will hopefully take care of some of the bugs. I say go for it. Read more...

NextGen

Not intuitive. Tedious multiple screens to do one simple thing. Long waits between screens. Frequent crashes. This program slows me down so much, I have taken to writing notes in Word and pasting them into the documents in the program. It definitely feels as if the program was designed to thwart the user. Needless to say, clinicians at my workplace had no input into the choice of the EMR: lowest bid won, and we got this crap. If this software were alive, it would be Frankenstein's monster, and the villagers would be lighting the torches and brandishing the pitchforks. Stay far, far away from NextGen. Read more...

piece of crap

My resident program outpatient clinics use nextgen EMR while the main hospital uses Cerner/Citrix. Compared to the Cerner system Nextgen is ridiculously difficult to use, navigate, and input information into. I use it almost every day for a few hours so I am definitely an experienced user and know my way around computers. This product is crap and from what I hear pretty expensive. Stay far away is my advice. Read more...

Transportation Billing

I currently use EZ Claim Advanced to bill Ambulance Claims for approxiately 600 to 900 claims per month. My question, is EZ Claim Advanced 7 a good software program to bill up to 17,000 transportation claims per month? Read more...
