Hebrew Home of Greater Washington Partners with CDW Healthcare to Get the Word Out

A 99-year community institution, the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington provides quality and compassionate rehabilitation and long-term nursing home services to area residents in need.  In fulfillment of its commitment to the community, Hebrew Home is dedicated to utilizing information technology solutions as a means of improving patient satisfaction and speeding the delivery of vital information to its caregiver staff.

The Hebrew Home facility, located in the Washington suburb of Rockville, Md., consists of two buildings on the Charles E. Smith Life Communities campus of senior services. The home sought an effective way to alert staff members rapidly of both internal and external threats (such as dangerous weather, security concerns, fire alarms and patient events) and to provide residents with information regarding daily menus and planned activities. Realizing it needed an experienced partner that possessed an ability to align technology product options with its specific requirements, Hebrew Home turned to CDW Healthcare.

After consulting with their CDW Healthcare account manager, Hebrew Home officials elected to deploy a campus-wide digital signage solution that would enable instant broadcasting of important information. Facility staff worked in close collaboration with CDW Healthcare to select and deploy the technology throughout its facility, including 27 32” LCD monitors, desktop computers equipped with touch-sensitive viewscreens and hardware units that serve as the interface between the user terminals and LCD monitors. The solution is controlled by a custom-designed software package that gives caregivers and administrative staff the ability to program, alter and launch public messages via the desktop terminals in a matter of moments.

By partnering with CDW Healthcare, Hebrew Home of Greater Washington expanded its technology portfolio to maintain a quality care environment that keeps patients and caregivers safe and informed.
