Healthagen Launches Smart Phone Version of iTriage
Healthagen™, a developer of healthcare information software, has introduced a new version of iTriage™ designed for all types of smart phones. This move makes the iTriage decision support platform available to a broader cross section of consumers. Healthagen also announced that iTriage for the iPhone is now available for free on iTunes®.
iTriage is now available for all smart phones with a mobile internet browser and connectivity including BlackBerry, Android, Samsung, LG, Nokia, Palm, T-Mobile, Sony and Motorola. To get access, consumers simply go to www.iTriageHealth.com from their smart phone, and they will be able to evaluate their symptoms, learn about the possible causes, find appropriate locations for treatment, as well as get cost information based on the type of facility they visit.
"It is important to us, as physicians, to provide as many consumers as possible with easy access to the right care the first time around," said Wayne Guerra, M.D., M.B.A., Chief Medical Officer, Healthagen. "The introduction of our mobile phone version will get consumers much closer to a more efficient, positive experience with their healthcare decision making process and overall experience."
The smart phone version of iTriage includes Healthagen's proprietary healthcare-focused search engine offering an expansive library of medical symptoms, diseases, and procedures. Users can immediately see initial diagnostic options and get recommendations on whether an emergency department, urgent care, retail clinic, or physician office is the best starting point. iTriage for smart phones has also been enhanced with added symptoms and diseases, more common terminology, as well as an extensive database of physician providers. Users can now enter the zip code they are searching and find physicians, medical facilities, and pharmacies across the United States.
"With the push toward healthcare reform in the U.S., Health Plans, Employers, and TPAs are looking for consumer driven healthcare tools that will help their members spend money in a more efficient manner," said Peter Hudson, M.D., CEO, Healthagen. "Consumers need help in deciding on the right level of care, and finding it quickly when it is most needed. iTriage, with its cross-device mobile platform, now provides this assistance to potentially millions of users."
