Initiate Systems Delivers Agile Data Governance with Initiate Master Data Service v9.0

Initiate Systems, Inc., a leader in data management solutions for information sharing and improved data quality, has announced the availability of Initiate Master Data Service® v9.0, the latest upgrade to the company’s master data management (MDM) solution. The new version of Initiate Master Data Service fosters agile data governance for enterprise, government and healthcare customers, enabling them to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their data management. Data stewards can identify and centrally manage all business data issues specific to their business processes in one tool.

“Initiate is committed to leading the MDM market in data governance solutions. We have drawn from experience with more than 200 customers to enable agile methods and improve data quality,” said Brian Vile, Initiate’s vice president of products. “Our solution enables customers to manage their data for timely productive outcomes without complicating or increasing the cost of their operations.”

Initiate Master Data Service v9.0 features Advanced Issues Management capabilities. Instead of needing multiple tools, customers can govern all data issues with a single solution. Data managers can rapidly identify, prioritize and route issues to appropriate executives and business analysts. Advanced Issues Management helps foster efficient workflow, facilitate timely response to business issues and ensure compliance with policies and initiatives.

According to Vile, Advanced Issues Management not only reduces the cost and complexity of enforcing data governance policies, but also increases its efficiency and effectiveness by aligning MDM governance activity with the needs of the business and providing a comprehensive view of issues and a timely means of addressing them across an organization.

Initiate Master Data Service v9.0 also includes these new capabilities:

- The Enterprise SOA Toolkit allows customers to integrate Initiate technology quickly into their service-oriented architecture and create customized Web services consistent with existing data models and industry standards. Organizations save time in implementing Web services and reduce the costs, complexity and risk of the process through standardization.

- With Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing, an expansion of Initiate’s industry-leading enterprise master person index (EMPI) capabilities, customers can view a single registry of all records and documents related to an individual from any access point in an information system. For example, a triage nurse in an emergency room can access all documents - last primary care visit, current medications, drug allergies, recent x-rays, etc. - related to an injured patient’s medical history immediately from one terminal powered by Initiate® Interoperable Health solutions.

- The Accuracy Workbook helps customers accelerate their decision-making about implementations and upgrades by providing non-technical users with a visual representation of the benefits of increasing data quality to meet the needs of the business.

Initiate Systems will be showcasing Initiate Master Data Service v9.0 at the Gartner MDM Summit, October 5-7 in Los Angeles. During the event, Initiate customers FedEx and Allstate will share their MDM experiences and Initiate will participate in the solution showcase.
