CDW Healthcare and Cerner Corporation Announce Tech Rx Transformation Contest for Physician Offices Ready to go Digital
CDW Healthcare, part of the public sector subsidiary of CDW Corporation, and Cerner Corporation (Nasdaq: CERN), a global provider of healthcare solutions, has announced the launch of the Tech Rx Transformation Contest, which offers physician practices nationwide the opportunity to receive an end-to-end electronic health record (EHR) solution valued at up to $50,000. In addition, the winning physician practice will also receive CDW Healthcare and Cerner’s award-winning support services during the implementation process.
To enter the contest, physician practices may submit a description about why their practice needs an EHR or practice management system. Submissions for the Tech Rx Transformation Contest will be accepted from Dec. 7, 2009 to Jan. 22, 2010, and the contest is open to all U.S.-based physician practices that meet the eligibility requirements. For more information, or to submit an entry, please visit www.CDW.com/techrxtransformation.
“Although the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) offers billions in incentives for healthcare IT adoption, many physician practices have been reluctant to embrace technologies,” said Bob Rossi, vice president, CDW Healthcare. “By collaborating with Cerner, we can help address many of the primary challenges facing small to mid-sized practices and offer the technologies, services and support necessary for a successful EHR initiative.”
The Tech Rx Transformation Contest judging panel will select three finalists to participate in a special event in March at the HIMSS 2010 Annual Conference in Atlanta, Ga., during which CDW Healthcare will announce the grand prize winner. The winning practice will receive a technology solution package, including laptops, desktops, networking equipment, EHR and practice management applications, storage devices, printers, scanners, operating systems and dictation software.
“Cerner’s collaboration with CDW Healthcare is about making EHR selection, implementation and support easy for busy physician offices,” said Shellee Spring, Cerner senior vice president.
Cerner and CDW announced in October that the companies would jointly offer physicians one-stop software, hardware and service offerings along with comprehensive client service for the Cerner® ambulatory EHR solutions.
