James Mathews, Sage Healthcare Division Vice President of Business Development and Government Initiatives and Jim Livingston of MacArthur OB/GYN, an Irving, Texas-based Sage client, will host a presentation titled “Reinventing the Physician-Patient Experience” at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 23, in the Grand Ballroom. The presentation will showcase MacArthur OB/GYN’s use of innovative online technology from Sage as well as social media sites to improve patient care and education through communication and patient interaction.
The Summit will feature information on the federal stimulus incentives currently being targeted toward physicians who adopt EHR. In addition, attendees will receive information about the $35.7 million in federal funds that Texas recently received to assist physicians implement EHRs via four Health Information Technology Regional Extension Centers.
More than 250 physicians, nurses, practice administrators, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders are expected to attend the Dallas event to review the adoption and implementation opportunities of HIT. The Summit is the largest learning opportunity of its kind in Texas.
The event provides the opportunity for attendees to become more informed about EHR, meet with and speak to the leaders who are responsible for advancing HIT in Texas, and to learn how to prepare and qualify for Meaningful Use and federal stimulus dollars.
Pre-Summit workshops will be held on Thursday, April 22. Summit sessions will be held Friday, April 23, and Saturday, April 24.
