A free* HIPAA compliant app, Care360 provides clinicians with the flexibility and convenience to manage patient progress and clinical documentation beyond the office. Use of the app is linked to the practice having adopted the Care360 EHR platform.
There is a web-based component in addition to the mobile components, with the mobile app providing cloud-based access to patient records. The various features of Care360 Mobile Solutions can be implemented individually and in a step-wise fashion that does not disrupt usual workflow in the practice.
With Care360 Mobile, you can log onto a virtual desktop to accomplish a variety of tasks:
- Receive and view lab results, result summaries and the actual Report of Record
- Mark reports as reviewed and add annotations to the report
- Review medication history
- Add notes for follow-up and mark as reviewed
- Write prescriptions** (ePrescribe) and respond to renewal requests
- Be alerted to interactions and contraindications
- Find pharmacies and view tiered formulary
- View patient notes and charts **
- Access, add and edit patient demographics
**some features require additional, optional modules
Care360 EHR has been chosen by the American Medical Association (AMA) for its AMAGINE physician portal, a product of Amagine, Inc.* The platform will enable physicians to access the features of Care360, including lab management, ePrescribing, clinical decision support, clinical encounter documentation and more—all without disrupting their workflows or investing in expensive hardware or infrastructure.
More than 80,000 physician offices and 200,000 physicians across the nation already rely on the Care360 suite of products to help improve patient care and increase practice efficiencies.
Setup
Developed by MedPlus, the information technology arm of Quest Diagnostics, Care360 Mobile is available as a free download across devices, including iPhone®, Android®, Blackberry® and most smartphones.
Utility
Physicians have described the app as an intuitive interface, with simple and effective navigation that makes for seamless support of patient engagement. Several physician testimonials are provided on the 360 website as well as in the iTunes and Android stores.
A few issues were reported with the October 2013 software update, including printer incompatibility and keyboard issues.
Customer service indicated that user actions (such as typing and tapping) are unique to each platform. Some performance issues stem from differences in the layout of the device’s keyboard (i.e., Apple, Blackberry and Android arrange their virtual keyboards somewhat differently from one another). Also, there are differences in appearance and functionality of the app depending on the interface in use, e.g., Android v. Apple.
The Care360 Blog includes tips for best practices, troubleshooting across platforms, and offers timely information about the technology. Also, look for the “tour and demo” feature on the product website.
The web-based platform and the variety of mobile services available are priced differently, although the mobile app is free. Physicians, clinical offices and hospitals are required to call Care360 to ascertain the best approach to integrating the technology in their clinical setting. Pricing is not provided on the website.
