Practice Fusion Offers Online Appointment Booking

Doctors who use Practice Fusion now have a way to schedule appointments online. The online booking feature is new to Practice Fusion’s electronic health record system. It is designed to work in conjunction with Practice Fusion’s new Patient Fusion.

Patient Fusion is the company’s new online personal health record management system for patients. In addition to managing their health records, patients can use Patient Fusion to find a doctor using the online booking feature.

Working similar to online restaurant review sites, the online booking feature lets doctors who currently use Practice Fusion create a free online profile for their practice. In the profile, doctors can share information about their practice along with positive stories and reviews.

Prospective patient can make appointments from the profile via the online calendar. The doctor must approve the appointment request. When the request is approved, a confirmation email is sent to the patient and the appointment is synced with the doctor’s electronic health record schedule.

The Practice Fusion calendar has a customizable view, so it works with any size practice. With it, you can view multiple provider schedules side-by-side, color-code your schedule by provider or appointment type, and set the status of current patient visits to notify providers of a patient’s arrival.

It also includes automatic appointment reminders, which go out a week before the patient’s appointment.
