One standard feature found in every specialty module is the fully customizable and intuitive "interactive visit note." The “interactive visit note” is a customizable and intuitive snapshot of the patient visit.

In addition to the interactive visit note, the EMR has full notes capabilities. The notes are customized for each specialty.

Doctors can use an exiting template, or create their own, to document frequent problems and types of encounters they see on a daily basis. Doctors can also use one of the existing procedure templates, or create their own, to document the outcomes of procedures they perform on a regular basis.

Before electronic medical records, sticky notes were prevalent in patient files as they were a quick and easy way to create a reminder without entering information into the official record. Until recently, that feature was not available in electronic records. However, Medical Mastermind has a Sticky Note feature that works like a paper sticky note: it keeps pertinent info at a physician's fingertips, but out of the official medical notes.

Doctors can also use the previous visits function to bring forward information from previous visits such as ROS, physical exams, treatment plans, and chief complaints. Medical Mastermind lets you record findings from the physical exams in narrative form. Doctors can also document via any method they choose, such as age-specific or diagnosis-specific.

With the software, doctors can create treatment plans. Multiple treatment plans can be created for each diagnosis.

Mastermind EMR also helps doctors get E&M Coding right. It evaluates visit documentation (ROS, Chief Complaint, Physical Exam, Orders, Medications etc.) and will suggest the appropriate E&M Code for the patient visit. Since all charges are entered electronically, there is no need for a super bill or redundant data entry.

Medical Mastermind has seamless integration with Medical Mastermind’s practice management and billing software. In addition, it will integrate with any existing practice management and billing software.

The Mastermind EMR includes a patient portal for simplified patient communications, education and meeting Meaningful Use Stage 2 criteria.
