Mobile Access to Personal Health Records

Personal health records are becoming more prevalent as patients take control of their medical records. One of the reason patients like PHRs is their portability and accessibility. Physicians are now familiar with patients sending their personal health records from web sites such as Google Health and Microsoft’s Health vault and it is no longer strange to ask for the patient’s medical history and receive a USB drive.

Now, with the new service available from AllOne Mobile, when doctors ask the patient for their medical history, the patient will hand them a cell phone. That is because a new service available from AllOne Mobile gives patient’s access to their medical records on their mobile phone. AllOne Mobile is an off shoot of AllOne Health and strives to give patients 24/7 access to their personal health records.

Available for Microsoft’s Health Vault, and as a separate service for mobile phone users via a partnership with MedFlas, AllOne Mobile puts personal health records on the patient’s cell phone. In addition, once patients use the AllOne Mobile service to access their personal health records and download the information, they will be able to manage and share the information from the cell to the doctor or with anyone else, they chose. According to AllOne Mobile the technology enables users to have all their medical information in there hands at all times. This means they can share critical health information with emergency rooms or first responders.

The application gives patients access to immunization records and prescription and pharmacy information. The service also allows users to forward instructions about a child’s allergy medication to the school nurse, share information with a specialist, confirm coverage while traveling, and send electronic images of insurance card to the doctor.
