SharEHR Streamlining the Exchange of Patient Information

One reason physicians are reluctant to switch to an EMR system is interoperability. Having an electronic record system may not eliminate the need to fax or mail patient information. Yet, HIPAA restrictions and the high failure rate of fax and mail make those methods an imperfect way to transfer data.

A new service, SharEHR, may be the solution to the document transfer problem. It provides a way to move medical records from practices, labs, hospitals, pharmacies and providers quickly and easily.

The service relies on Randomized to Structured Data (R2SD) to turn any file into a searchable PDF along with searchability the PDF is also sortable. A physician who has searchable rights within the ShareEHR system can find any record anytime.

SharEHR a simple alternative to sharing data across disparate systems and it works with any document.

SharEHR understands that doctors don’t want to become date entry clerks and they also know that the office staff time is just as valuable. SharEHR eliminates the time spent copying, mailing, faxing documents.

The system allows doctors to generate documents in the way that works best for them whether the document is handwritten, dictated, or computer generated it can be shared.

SharEHR boasts a short learning curve. Since it uses current files including scanned documents there is no elaborate training needed.

An example of how SharEHR works; a doctor refers a patient to a specialist, using SharEHR the doctor contacts the specialist via email and explain the patient’s diagnosis. The message includes a link to the patients file, giving the specialist all the tools necessary to contact the patient.

Document sharing is granted on a document-by-document level. SharEHR uses “WYSIWTS” also known as “What You Share Is What They See“.

With the system it is possible to share just one document or the entire patient record with another medical facility but only licensed medical facilities are allowed to have searching permission on SharEHR, thus allowing patient information to be shared while still remaining HIPAA compliant.

ShareEHR also includes a messaging option. The SharEHR Messaging facilitates communication for improved patient care without interrupting patient flow. Messages are sent instantly between doctors. Doctors answer when they have time.
