As more physicians opt to join a health information exchange (HIE), there are several legal factors they should be concerned about, reports Fierce EMR. Most notably the physician should make sure the plan has a data use and reciprocal support (DURSA) agreement in place.

The Healthcare Information Xchange of New York recently connected AthenaHealth to their network, reports the Times Union. The Exchange now includes 17 counties in New York State, including the Capitol Region and the northern area of the state.
