Utah Insurer Promotes Health Information Exchange

Utah‘s largest health insurer, Regence Blue Cross, is helping Utah‘s health information exchange, reports The Salt Lake Tribune. Regence Foundation, the insurer‘s charitable arm, is investing $90,000 in a campaign to promote the Clinical Health Information Exchange.

Federal regulators moved one-step closer to releasing the second rule Stage 2 of the HITECH Act, according to Gov Info Security. The rule, drafted by the Department of Health and Human Services and submitted to the OMB, outlines how hospitals and physicians must meaningfully use electronic health records.
