Student Discovers Security Loophole in VistA

A graduate student at Georgia Tech University discovered a potential security problem with the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture Electronic Health Record (VistA). So reports EHR Intelligence .

The student was examining VistA, which is an open source system, for a school project when he discovered a potential security loophole that would leave the system vulnerable to a cyber-attack. To close the loophole, the Open Source Electronic Health Record Agent (OSEHRA) released a patch.
