Today’s doctors must use electronic health records, but often patients complain that it hampers the doctor’s ability to interact with the patient. So reports The New York Times.

To combat that, many doctors now rely on a scribe. A scribe attends every patient visit with the doctor and enters the patient information into the electronic health record for the doctor, freeing the doctor to focus completely on the patient.
