Are Shared Medical Appointments in Your Practice's Future?

It's not usual for doctors to double-book patients for appointments at or about the same time. However, many are taking it a step further with shared medical appointments. So reports WCBV in Boston.

The idea is that multiple patients with similar health issues are brought together and see the doctor at the same time. The doctor examines each patient individually and then gives a prognosis. Other patients listen and often learn.

The goal is to decrease wait times and give more patients better access to physicians, especially with more patients gaining health insurance with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
