Doctors Not Highest Paid Healthcare Pros

The recent release of Medicare physician payment information is misleading. So reports The New York Times.

While millions of dollars were disbursed to certain specialists, a majority of doctors are not the highest paid workers in the healthcare industry.

The highest compensation is reserved not for those directly serving the patients, but those overseeing the business side of medicine. On average, the pay for a hospital administrator is around $237,000. Meanwhile, the insurance chief executive officer makes an average of $386,000.
