California Set to Launch Massive HIE

Cal Index, California's startup health information exchange, is due to launch later this year. So reports Fierce EMR.

The new information exchange represents a collaboration between Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California. When completed, the exchange will be one of the biggest in the country.

The exchange claims that when it is launched the medical information for almost a quarter of all Californians will be accessible to providers online.
