Michael J. Fox Foundation Develops Wearables to Help Parkinson's Patients

Soon there will be a new way to monitor patients with Parkinson's disease. So reports Fierce Mobile Healthcare.

Spurred by the fact that Parkinson's is monitored and treated in much the same way as it was 200 years ago, Intel and the Michael J. Fox Foundation are working together to create new ways to analyze Parkinson's patients.

The developments include wearable devices and data analytics platforms. The small devices will transmit actual patient statistics and send them to a data processing system. The goal is to improve treatment of the disease.
