Alaska Mental Health Facility Fined Over HIPAA Violation

A Health and Human Services investigation has lead to an Alaska mental health organization paying a steep fine for violating HIPAA. So reports Healthcare IT News.

Anchorage Community Mental Health Services, a five facility organization, failed to patch their system and continued to run outdated software, which lead to a data breach that affected more than 2,700 patients. Anchorage Community Mental Health Services faces a fine of $150,000 for the breach.
