Florida Faces Doctor Shortage

Florida is facing a doctor shortage. So reports the Orlando Business Journal.

According to a study prepared by the Teaching Hospital Council of Florida and the Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida, Florida will have a critical shortage of physicians by 2025 unless more medical residency training programs are created.

Currently, Florida ranks near the bottom in residency training programs. The projected shortfall means that Florida would need to train an additional 1,300 new residents a year for the next 10 years to prevent the shortage.
