Epic Dropping Data Exchange Fees

A week after the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT) chastised electronic records vendors for charging fees for exchanging data with other vendors, Epic Systems announced it will stop charging data exchange fees. So, reports The Milwaukee Business Journal.

The ONCHIT claimed that the data exchange fees charged by electronic record vendors was stifling the growth of interoperability. Epic will repeal the fee until at least 2020.
