Medscape has released its 2015 Physician Compensation report. So reports Business Insider.

The report contains results from 19,500 doctors across 26 specialties. Average pay for a primary care physician is $195,000 dollars, while a specialist made on average $284,000 dollars. The survey showed that physicians in rural areas tended to make more than those in urban areas.

Physicians in North Dakota, Alaska and Wyoming made the highest salary, while those in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Rhode Island made the least.
