EMRs May Help Patients Keep Insurance

A new study published by the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association has published a paper studying the link between electronic health records and patients' ability to maintain insurance coverage and have continuity of care. So reports Fierce EMR.

Researchers from the Oregon Health and Science University propose that clinics can use electronic medical records to instantly validate a patient’s insurance coverage, help them retain coverage and, if necessary, help them enroll in insurance coverage. All of this will help patients have continuity of care, and ultimately help patients stay more healthy.
