Minnesota Adjusts Stance on EHRs

Minnesota is adjusting its EHR mandate. So reports Fierce EMR.

The state’s mandate, originally enacted with the HITECH Act, called for all hospitals and healthcare providers to have an interoperable electronic health record system in place by January of 2015. However, the state is now allowing a few exemptions. After an e-Health Advisory panel review, the State has decided that solo practitioners and cash-only doctors can be exempt from this requirement.
