Hackensack Univ. Medical Center Linking Pharmacy to Bedside

Hackensack University Medical Center is piloting a program that links its Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) with its electronic health records. So reports Healthcare IT News.

The medical center runs an Epic electronic health record system, which is now linked to the Omnicell ADC. Nurses can now use the interface to check patient’s medication from their bedside. The app lets nurses know when medication is delivered and it also automatically checks allergies, drug-to-drug and food-to-drug interactions.
