Do Nurses Order More Unnecessary Tests Than Docs?

With a primary care physician shortage, many clinics are directing patients to see Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants, but many worry that this will result in a lower level of care for patients, including more unnecessary tests or prescriptions. So reports Forbes.

A new study published in the Annals of Internal Care compared the number of tests and unnecessary test ordered by both physicians and non-physicians and found that there is no significant difference in the number ordered by either group.
