Healthcare employees and partners are vastly mobile – they are constantly on the move between patients and facilities, making email a less than ideal means of communicating an important announcement or for requesting patient information. And many healthcare workers, such as the cafeteria or maintenance staff, are not part of the corporate email system.

Healthcare staff often uses unsecure and public tools such as text and SMS today. Red e App is a secure and immediate means of engaging healthcare employees and partners at their mobile device.

Red e App has been used for compliance, training, crisis management, wellness programs, and patient records (PHI) sharing.

Technology Employed

Red e App is a SaaS application. Red e App is a free app download for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire mobile devices, and is available as a web application for employees that do not have access to a mobile device. The app is administered via Red e App’s robust customer management portal.

Ease of Use

Red e App is an easily accessible app via an employee’s iOS, Android, or Kindle Fire mobile device or tablet. The employee creates a unique login (Red e ID), eliminating the need to share a personal email address or personal phone number and subscribes to their company’s network within the app.

Each employee is authenticated based on a unique identifier such as employee ID. Once subscribed, the employee will receive messages from their employer, and the employee has access to the company’s content and documents they have made accessible within the app. It’s essentially like a mobile Intranet.

Messages are sent via push notification and display as a banner on the mobile device, differentiating employer messages from the one’s received from friends. The employer’s contacts are efficiently managed in Red e App rather than maintaining a list of personal email and phone numbers for each employee.

Configuration and Deployment

Employees access Red e App via a free app download for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire devices, or via the web application.

The Healthcare institution/employer administers their account via Red e App’s robust customer management portal. In the portal, the administrator manages employee access levels and employee groups. Red e App connects directly with an institution’s HRMS application for employee access administration. The administrator sends notifications, monitors user analytics (i.e., open rates, responses) and manages the available resources (i.e., Employee handbook, operating procedures) in the portal.
