Florida Mulls Changing Cost of Medical Record Copies

The Florida Board of Medicine is debating changing the state’s rules regarding how much healthcare providers can charge patients for copies of their medical records. So reports the Tampa Bay Times.

 

Currently, the rule states that healthcare providers can charge patients $1 per page for the first 25 pages and 25 cents per page after that. However, the new rule under consideration would allow providers to charge $1 per page.
