Legislation Would Shorten Meaningful Use Reporting Period

The Flexibility in Health IT Reporting (Flex-IT) Act, introduced to Congress recently, would provide more flexibility for doctors attesting to Meaningful Use. So reports Fierce EMR.

Currently, the reporting requirement is a one-year period. The new legislation would give attesters the option to choose any three-month quarter next year to use as a basis for reporting. The idea behind the legislation is to make it as easy as possible for physicians to become certified in Meaningful Use.
