Researchers from Finland have published a study in the Journal of Medical Internet Research that indicates the use of text messaging can improve patient outcomes. So reports Fierce Mobile Healthcare.

The researchers study literature on the use of text messages in a healthcare setting and they found that text messages boost positive outcomes. Using text messages can increase the likelihood that patients take medication and return for follow up care.
