Researchers Work on Malaria Monitoring Device

Michigan researchers are working on a device to track cerebral malaria, So reports Fierce Mobile Healthcare.

The research being done at Michigan State University College of Engineering focuses on using a mobile phone based biosensor to diagnose and track cerebral malaria. The goal is to have the device monitor the patient and test for malarial biomarkers in the patient’s blood. The device will also be able to send the results to the lab and public health agencies.
