Maryland Law Gives Nurse Practitioners More Freedom

Maryland has a new law that allows nurse practitioners to practice independent of a physician. So reports Modern Healthcare.

The Nurse Practitioner Full Practice Authority Act allows nurses to prescribe certain drugs without having an “attestation agreement” with a physician and the act allows nurses to open their own independent clinics. Maryland is the 21st state to give nurse practitioners autonomy.
