Aetna's ACAview, which aims to show the impact of Obamacare on medical practices, shows that states that took the Medicaid expansion offered under the ACA saw an increase in Medicaid visits to doctors. For those states, Medicaid visits increased from 15.6% in 2013 to 21.5% in 2015. Meanwhile, Medicaid visits remained flat in states that didn’t take the expansion.
In contrast, visits from commercially insured patients fell in states that accepted the Medicaid expansion.
