Patients with chronic diseases who receive text messages are more likely to adhere to their medication regimen. So reports Fierce Mobile Healthcare.

The conclusion comes after a study of 16 randomized trials. The trials found that texting can help boost medication adherence by 50%. The authors of the studies caution that this does not mean patients will stay committed to their medication plan.
