Personal Health Records Have Potential

New research finds that patients are willing to use personal health records (PHR), but too many barriers prevent them from using them effectively. So reports FierceEMR.

Currently, 31 million people use the basic functions--storing data and communication--of the PHR regularly. There is speculation that Meaningful Use, which only requires 5% of patients to communicate with their physicians electronically, may be hampering innovation in PHRs.
