Small Practices Fading Away

A new study by Avalere Health and the Physicians Advocacy Institute finds that solo practitioners and small practices may be a thing of the past. So reports Healthcare Dive.

As of 2015, 38% of physicians were employed by a large practice or hospital-owned practice. The total number of physicians employed by a hospital-owned practice jumped from 95,000 in 2012 to 140,000 in 2015.
