Buffalo Clinics Get in on Government Pilot Program

A new Medicare pilot program wants to help decrease the physician shortage in the Buffalo area. So reports the Buffalo News.

The program directs federal funds to participating clinics, but only clinics that take Medicare are eligible. The funds are part of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid's Comprehensive Primary Care Plus Initiative. As the clinics receive the funds, it will encourage them to hire more doctors, or the increase in funds might encourage a retiring physician to stay on a little longer.
