A new report by Global Industry Analysts, a market research firm, shows that the e-prescription system market is projected to reach $204.6 million dollars over the next several years. The rise is due to pushes to increase efficiency, eliminate errors and save money, according to a Healthcare IT News article.

The National Institute of Health has a medical image sharing system in the works, reports Government Health IT. The system will not only allow radiologists and physicians to share the images, but also let patients to access the images via personal health records.

The Office of the National Coordinator has named Farzad Mostashari, deputy national coordinator for programs and policy at the organization, as its National Coordinator for Health IT, according to Government Health IT.
