FDA, FCC Join Forces to Bring Techology to Market Quicker

The Federal Communications Commission and the Food and Drug Administration are both working on ways to bring wireless healthcare technology to market quicker, according to Government Health IT. Each agency, while still working on its own, will try to find ways to work together to streamline the process.

Starting in September, the Health Resources and Service Administration will award as many as 40 grants over the next three years to rural healthcare networks. Each grant can total as much as $300,000. The grants are designed to help the organizations achieve meaningful use, reports Government Health IT.
