The same rules of doctor-patient confidentiality apply on social media as they do in a conversation at a coffee shop, notes a recent article from Healthcare IT News. The article explains how a Rhode Island doctor lost her clinical privileges and received a fine of $500 all because she posted identifiable patient information on her Facebook account.

Veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder now have another resource available to help them. PTSD Coach, a free mobile application developed by the Department of Defense and the Veteran’s Administration, was released recently. The app helps veterans track symptoms and find local resources, reports Government Health IT.
