Half of California Physicians Embrace EHRs: Study

A new report from the California HealthCare Foundation finds that although more than half of the physicians in California use electronic health records (EHRs), the adoption rate for small or solo practice physicians remains low, according to an article from Healthcare IT News. Missouri Sets Aggresive Timeline for HIE

Missouri is setting an aggressive timeline for completion of the state’s health information exchange (HIE), according to a report in Government Health IT. The state is looking to have a direct messaging query service in place by January of 2012.

Panel Suggest Objectives for Stage 2 of Meaningful Use

An advisory panel to the Health IT Policy Committee proposed several major points for Stage 2 of Meaningful Use. The panel recommends that patients become more active participants in their healthcare, Healthcare IT News reports. The panel also wants to see more health information exchanged between providers.
